About

Pakhi worked as a Research Intern at the Healthcare Engineering Lab in the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi from May 2026 to July 2026. During her internship, She was been working on the development of a Bluetooth-enabled smart insole for the early detection of diabetic foot complications. The project combines wearable sensing technology with real-time gait analysis to monitor foot health in individuals with diabetes. This work involves integrating plantar pressure sensors and an inertial measurement unit (IMU) to measure key gait and biomechanical parameters such as plantar pressure distribution, cadence, walking speed, and balance stability. The objective of this research is to develop an affordable and portable system that can facilitate early diagnosis of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) and help reduce the risk of Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs) through continuous monitoring and timely intervention.
