About

Shabir is a PhD research scholar at the Healthcare Engineering Lab, IIT Delhi. His research is related with biomechanics, focusing on the development of artificial tissues — particularly skin graft expansion using different biomaterials and 3D bioprinting different innovative structures to enhance injury mitigation and biomimetic. Shabir holds a B. Tech in Biotechnology from NIT Jalandhar Punjab (2021), his B. Tech project entitled as bioinformatics tools to identify landfill microorganisms with potential biomaterials degradation capabilities, highlighting multidisciplinary approach for impactful research. And After qualifying GATE in Biotechnology, he completed his post-graduation in M. Tech in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (2024). His master’s thesis, titled “Hydroxyapatite-based Scaffold by Direct Printing and Fabrication Using Silver Nanoparticle Crosslinked with Gelatin Towards Antibacterial Bone Implant,” reflects his passion for translational research at the intersection of biomaterials science and biomedical engineering. Across all projects, Shabir’s core focus is understanding and engineering biomaterials for improved biomedical applications.
