Treesa Joseph
About
Treesa worked as a Research Intern at the Healthcare Engineering Lab in the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi from May 2026 to July 2026. During her internship, she was involved in the development of a Bluetooth-enabled smart insole for sports biomechanics analysis and injury prevention. The project focuses on integrating wearable sensing technology with real-time gait analysis to evaluate foot biomechanics during various physical and sporting activities. Her work includes developing a smart insole capable of monitoring important biomechanical parameters such as plantar pressure distribution, cadence, ground contact time, gait symmetry and fatigue-related changes using pressure and motion sensors. The aim of this research is to design a portable and cost-effective system that supports realtime biomechanical monitoring, helps identify abnormal gait patterns associated with sports injuries and provides valuable feedback for performance optimization and injury prevention.
